La Torre Golf Resort
Imagine waking up on a sunny morning. Having breakfast on the terrace of your town house overlooking the golf course - an immense garden which forms the central focus of the resort. Going for a round of golf on the uncrowded course or, if you are not a golf fan, perhaps playing tennis, going horse riding, enjoying a relaxing jacuzzi or simply taking a stroll in the grounds.
The whole resort is built around a splendid 18-hole golf course designed by Nicklaus Design: for real golf enthusiasts this means endless rounds of golf every day, for others it means unrestricted access to a great choice of other sporting and cultural activities. Everything the holiday maker requires is within reach.
Playing Golf Warmer than Portugal and France, and closer than America and South Africa, The Costa Calida, in Southern Spain offers some of the best golf in Europe today. With an amazing choice of stunning courses only minutes from your accommodation, you will be spoiled for choice where to play. There are courses to suit all abilities. Most courses have driving ranges, practice facilities, and professional tuition. Not everyone in your group may be a golfer. For the lady non-golfer, for example, there are more than enough things to do while your partner is flogging the golf ball! Superb spa facilities, with indoor pools, jacuzzi and gym are all on hand, as are quality designer shops and departmental stores, cafes and restaurants. Spanish courses are among the most popular in the world. Heavy investment has maintained Spain's deserved position as one of the leading golfing nations of the world - even if it remains not the most popular of sports with the Spanish themselves. The ideal time to play golf in Spain is from March to May and September to November. During this period, the average maximum temperature is around 75F rising to 82F in the summer months.
La Torre Golf Course: The La Torre Golf Resort golf course is the second Jack Nicklaus project in Nicklaus Golf Trail, the only circuit of its size in the world. Open since the middle of 2006, it covers over 55 hectares in spite of being a par 68. The strategically placed bunkers ensure players are kept entertained. La Torre Golf Resort features over five hectares of elaborately sculpted bunkers which help separate the holes, create strategic interest and added shot values. Of important note is the intelligent sprinkler system which can tell when a part of the course needs watering, thereby saving water. All this is bathed by three lakes and accompanied by lush surroundings. The shorter length of La Torre Golf Resort makes the golf course more playable for the average to higher-handicap players. At the same time, La Torre Golf Resort incorporates a great deal of strategy, so when played from the back tees, the course will still be interesting to experienced players who will enjoy the wide variety of shots required to successfully play the course. Complete with a full-feature practice facility, La Torre Golf Resort is, without a doubt, a must for all golfers. If you think the golf course at La Torre Golf Resort is impressive, its services won't let you down either. The latest in golf course maintenance, modern and spotless changing rooms, a well-equipped Pro-shop and a Wood House bar where you can enjoy a quiet chat in comfortable surroundings overlooking the driving range where golf classes are given by the best professionals. All the services necessary for a great place to play golf. The Polaris World services don't end with those around the golf course at La Torre Golf Resort, but they go much further. Within the complex you can enjoy a 5 star InterContinental hotel, bars, restaurants, swimming pools, hairdressers, social club, car hire and everything you need for a good day out. As a guest of From Chair to There, you will benefit from unlimited access to all the other resorts, and a reduced 'resident's rate' - a 20% discount off the usual green fees. A typical round of 18 holes would be € 40. Golf trolleys, electric trolleys and buggies are all available for hire at a reasonable rate, as are bags, clubs and lockers. Courtesy buses will operate between all resorts, so you can benefit from all the other Polaris World courses.
Town Centre: Location, Access and Communications: With major extensions to the airport at San Javier, including a new runway under construction this year, and the new airport at Corvera expected to be completed in 2008 to 2009; access to the region will be quicker, easier and cheaper than ever before. Corvera airport will be around 10 minute's drive from the La Torre resort, and will service a comprehensive range of UK and European low cost airlines. The resort sits on the new Murcia-San Javier dual carriageway and the new Alicante-Cartagena motorway is only 15kms away, perfect for getting out and exploring up and down the coast.
