The La Torre Golf Resort golf course is the second Jack Nicklaus project in Nicklaus Golf Trail, the only circuit of its size in the world. Open since the middle of 2006, it covers over 55 hectares in spite of being a par 68. The strategically placed bunkers ensure players are kept entertained.
La Torre Golf Resort features over five hectares of elaborately sculpted bunkers which help separate the holes, create strategic interest and added shot values. Of important note is the intelligent sprinkler system which can tell when a part of the course needs watering, thereby saving water. All this is bathed by three lakes and accompanied by lush surroundings. The shorter length of La Torre Golf Resort makes the golf course more playable for the average to higher-handicap players. Golf trolleys, electric trolleys and buggies are all available for hire at a reasonable rate, as are bags, clubs and lockers. Courtesy buses will operate between all resorts, so you can benefit from all the other Polaris World courses.
Town Centre:
La Torre Golf Resort has a magnificent Town Centre, structured around a splendid lake. Services and amenities include: a restaurant, cafes and pubs, a Congress Centre for over 1,000 people, a 5 star hotel complex, a Business Centre, an Events Hall, spas, fitness centre, a complex of swimming-pools, business premises, supermarkets, cash machines, tennis courts, gym and day care centre, plus services such as sports training.
Location, Access and Communications:
La Torre Golf Resort is located just to the north of Torre Pacheco and is just 15 minutes from the regional capital of Murcia. The international airport of Alicante, which links this city with the centre of Europe, is 50 minutes away and the San Javier airport of Murcia is only 15 minutes away. Both these airports have direct flights to and from the UK.
With major extensions to the airport at San Javier, including a new runway under construction this year, and the new airport at Corvera expected to be completed in 2008 to 2009; access to the region will be quicker, easier and cheaper than ever before.
Corvera airport will be around 10 minute's drive from the La Torre resort, and will service a comprehensive range of UK and European low cost airlines.
The resort sits on the new Murcia-San Javier dual carriageway and the new Alicante-Cartagena motorway is only 15kms away, perfect for getting out and exploring up and down the coast.
